As a Senior Estimator in the East Midlands operating across Nottingham, Leicester, Derby, Northampton and the surrounding areas you'll take a lead role in managing tenders, preparing detailed cost estimates and supporting the pre-construction strategy across traditional and design & build schemes.

You'll have visibility across all stages of the bid process and contribute to strategic decision-making on key opportunities. This Cost Estimator Construction position offers excellent scope for an experienced construction cost planning professional to influence commercial outcomes and mentor junior team members.

This is an ideal pre-construction estimator opportunity for an ambitious professional looking to step up or a current Senior Estimator seeking more autonomy and influence in a regional, delivery-focused business.

As a Senior Estimator based Nottingham or surrounding East Midlands areas, your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions for high value schemes
• Develop cost plans and budget estimates at pre-construction stage
• Analyse drawings, specifications and employer requirements to ensure accurate quantity takeoff
• Manage and liaise with subcontractors and supply chain partners for competitive pricing
• Conduct risk analysis and value engineering assessments to enhance project profitability
• Contribute to bid strategy, ensuring commercially competitive and compliant submissions
• Attend pre-tender meetings, site visits and client briefings across the Midlands
• Assist with handover to operations teams post-award
• Mentor junior members of the estimating team where appropriate

To be successful in this Construction Estimator Midlands job role, you'll be an experienced Senior Estimator or an established estimating technician ready to step up. You'll have a solid background working for a main contractor.

Requirements:

• 3+ years' estimating experience with a construction main contractor
• Proven track record of managing full tender lifecycle from enquiry to submission
• Strong technical understanding of construction methodologies and build cost estimator principles
• Proficient in estimating software and Microsoft Excel for cost analysis
• Experience working with JCT and/or design & build contracts
• Confident communicator, able to liaise with clients, supply chain and internal stakeholders
• Strong commercial acumen and problem-solving abilities
• Degree or HND/HNC in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management or related discipline is desirable
