Following two years of consistent growth we are working in partnership to grow their Nottingham based team and strengthen the Preconstruction and Framework team with a talented Bid Writer.

Our client is a financially robust, well-respected construction main contractor based in Nottingham City Centre and operates across the East Midlands, Yorkshire, East of England and the Northwest. Known for collaborative working practices, they maintain trusted relationships with subcontractors, clients, and frameworks to deliver high-quality schemes on time and within budget.

Their diverse portfolio of projects spans commercial construction, education, leisure and healthcare construction projects, combining traditional delivery methods with modern project controls and sustainability frameworks.

As a Bid Writer in Nottingham, you will play a central role in the Preconstruction and Business Development team. Working closely with colleagues in Estimating, Design, Project Delivery, Marketing and Business Development, you will produce winning bid submissions that directly influence the company's growth.

This is an excellent bid writing career opportunity for an ambitious proposal writing professional to craft compelling tender responses, PQQs and framework submissions that not only meet compliance standards but stand out as client-focused proposals. You'll work on construction tenders across education, healthcare, residential and commercial sectors with national visibility.

As a Bid Writer in Nottingham, your key responsibilities will include:

• Manage and produce tender submissions, PQQs, framework bids and expressions of interest for construction projects.
• Collaborate with internal teams to gather technical, commercial and project information for bid responses.
• Create persuasive narrative responses, case studies, CVs and supporting bid materials that showcase project delivery excellence.
• Lead pre-qualification questionnaire writing and tender response coordination to ensure deadlines are met.
• Ensure brand consistency across all proposals in line with corporate guidelines and quality standards.
• Maintain and update a library of standard responses, case studies and best practice content for construction bids.
• Track timelines, actions and deliverables using document control processes to guarantee on-time bid submissions.
• Review tender documents to identify risks, opportunities and competitive advantages in construction procurement.
• Support post-submission reviews to capture lessons learned and continuously improve bid outputs.
• Stay up to date with procurement frameworks, construction legislation and industry trends including public sector tendering.

To be successful in this Bid Writer job in Nottingham, you will bring demonstrable experience writing award-winning bids and tenders.

Ideally, you will have worked within a construction, consultancy or built environment background, though we welcome applications from Bid Writers in other sectors.

• Proven experience as a Bid Writer, Senior Bid Writer, Bid Manager or tender response specialist.
• Exceptional writing and storytelling ability with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple bid submissions simultaneously.
• Desire to succeed and progress within a growing construction business.
• Ability to demonstrate document control processes and procedures for proposal writing.
• Proficient in the use of Adobe Suite, MS Office and/or InDesign for creating professional bid documents.
• Understanding of construction contracts, procurement processes and compliance requirements is desirable.
• Experience with public sector frameworks and construction tendering processes is advantageous.
