This is a full-time, permanent position focused on monitoring quality standards, undertaking inspections and audits, and ensuring the successful delivery of diverse, high-value construction projects ranging from £1m - £45m.

Our client is a financially robust, well-respected construction main contractor with a strong presence across Nottingham and the East Midlands. Known for collaborative working practices, they maintain trusted relationships with subcontractors and clients to deliver high-quality schemes on time and within budget.

Their diverse portfolio of projects spans commercial construction, education, leisure and healthcare construction projects, combining traditional delivery methods with modern project controls and sustainability frameworks.

Following two years of consistent growth, they are expanding their operational team and seeking an experienced quality professional to oversee quality assurance, inspections and compliance activities across their portfolio.

Our client is looking to bring in a Clerk of Works / Quality Advisor to work as part of their existing construction team. You will be responsible for monitoring workmanship standards throughout the construction process, carrying out inspections and audits, identifying quality concerns, and ensuring that projects are delivered in accordance with specifications, regulations and client expectations.

As a Clerk of Works / Quality Advisor in Nottingham, your responsibilities will include:

• Undertaking regular site inspections to monitor workmanship, materials and construction quality throughout project delivery.
• Ensuring works are completed in accordance with drawings, specifications, building regulations and industry best practice.
• Producing detailed inspection reports and maintaining accurate quality records and documentation.
• Identifying defects, non-conformances and quality concerns, working closely with site teams to ensure timely resolution.
• Supporting project teams with quality assurance processes, audits and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Liaising with clients, consultants, subcontractors and project stakeholders to promote high standards of quality across all projects.
• Monitoring compliance with company quality procedures and contributing to successful project handovers.

To be successful in this Clerk of Works / Quality Advisor position in Nottingham, you will bring significant experience working within a construction environment, ideally for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor, consultancy or client-side organisation.

• Current or previous experience as a Clerk of Works, Quality Advisor, Quality Manager, Site Manager, Site Inspector or similar role within the construction sector.
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, specifications, quality assurance procedures and building regulations.
• Experience carrying out site inspections, audits and reporting on quality performance.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
• Strong attention to detail and the confidence to challenge poor-quality workmanship where required.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities while maintaining a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
• Knowledge of relevant construction standards, NHBC requirements and industry best practice would be advantageous.
• CSCS card and relevant construction or quality management qualifications preferred.
