This is a full-time, permanent opportunity that has become available due to an increase in workload and the upcoming project pipeline of our client. The role is to support the established project delivery team on some major construction schemes across Derby, Nottingham and the wider Midlands region.

As a Construction Project Manager in Derby, your key responsibilities will include:

• Lead end-to-end project delivery of mid-to-large scale building projects across commercial offices, education, mixed-use and industrial construction sectors
• Manage all project phases: feasibility, preconstruction, programmed delivery, procurement, cost control, health & safety compliance, quality assurance, and client engagement
• Oversee construction project management using NEC and JCT contracts, ensuring compliance with CDM 2015 regulations
• Coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, subcontractors, construction consultants, and supply chain partners across Derby and Midlands projects
• Work in conjunction with the site team, ensuring accurate construction delivery whilst maintaining quality standards and programme management milestones
• Provide sound project leadership, guidance and support to the construction team throughout pre-construction and construction phases
• Produce and manage detailed programme of works using industry-standard project controls and planning software
• Monitor all site health and safety procedures and ensure compliance by all site personnel in line with CDM regulations and risk assessment protocols
• Liaise with supply chain team to ensure effective site set up and contractor coordination
• Ensure quality of workmanship meets company expectations and construction delivery standards
• Deliver construction projects to agreed programme of works and budget parameters
• Monitor programme of works, identify potential shortfalls and implement practical solutions
• Act as primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring clear communication and issue resolution

To be successful in this Project Manager job in Derby, you will need:

• Proven track record as a Construction Project Manager or Senior Project Manager handling developments valued at £10M–£150M within a main contractor environment
• Strong knowledge and understanding of construction programming, project planning and project controls
• Previous experience delivering industrial construction schemes and building projects across the Midlands region
• Experience in delivering BREEAM-rated sustainable construction schemes (e.g. targeting Excellent ratings)
• Strong leadership of construction teams on live sites during complex project delivery phases (e.g. façade installation, off-site systems)
• Proactive decision-making and resolution of on-site challenges under pressure in fast-paced construction environments
• Excellent programme management and cost management skills, including forecasting and cost reporting
• Demonstrable health & safety leadership, with thorough familiarity of CDM regulations and construction compliance
• Strong stakeholder management skills for effective communication with clients, local authorities, and supply chain partners
• Results-driven approach, adaptable in dynamic construction project environments
• Collaborative project leadership with a focus on mentoring junior team members and supporting career development
• Strong attention to construction quality, sustainability standards, and commercial outcomes
• Full UK driving licence - essential for visiting construction sites across Derby, Nottingham and the wider Midlands
• HNC/HND in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or related construction discipline preferred
• SMSTS, NEBOSH certification or equivalent construction management qualifications highly desirable
