As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in the Nottingham, operating across the East Midlands and surrounding areas, you’ll play a key role within a collaborative Commercial Team. Your job role will involve supporting the Senior Quantity Surveyors and Project Quantity Surveyors in the delivery of multiple projects across the East Midlands.

Your focus will be on assisting with cost management, subcontractor procurement, and contract administration, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, profitably, and to the highest quality standards.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious Assistant Quantity Surveyor or Graduate Quantity Surveyor with around 2 years’ experience to take the next step in a structured and supportive environment.

As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will assist the commercial team in the preparation, management and reporting of project finances, while developing your skills through hands-on project involvement.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Running pre-let meetings for subcontractors and assisting with procurement.
• Processing invoices and applications for payment in line with company procedures.
• Receiving tenders and assisting in preparing analysis sheets for each trade.
• Supporting the Commercial Department as required with contract documentation and reporting.

• Compiling and issuing subcontract packages and orders.
• Attending site visits, client meetings and commercial reviews to gain exposure to full project lifecycles.

The ideal candidate for this Assistant Quantity Surveyor role will be eager to progress their career towards a Senior Quantity Surveyor position.

You’ll need to be proactive, detail-oriented and confident in communication, with a strong desire to learn and grow in a fast-paced commercial environment.

Key requirements include:

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or Construction Management.
• Ideally experience in an entry-level Quantity Surveyor role (not essential).
• Experience with JCT and/or NEC4 contracts (desirable but not essential).
• Experience working on construction projects for a main contractor.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and standard reporting software.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ambitious, career-driven and able to work both independently and within a team.
