Our client is a specialist construction contractor based in Nottingham with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality maintenance and refurbishment works across the East Midlands. Their portfolio includes diverse range of construction projects including social housing maintenance projects, planned works programmes and responsive repair contracts with local authorities and housing associations.

Known for their collaborative approach and long-term client relationships, they offer structured progression and support for Site Managers ready to take ownership of key projects. They pride themselves on minimal disruption delivery whilst maintaining the highest standards of workmanship and tenant care.

Role

As a Construction Site Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing site operations on housing maintenance and refurbishment schemes within an hour of the Nottingham office. You'll manager site teams, subcontractors and suppliers to ensure projects meet programme, budget and quality targets whilst maintaining full compliance with CDM 2015 and health and safety protocols.

This is an excellent site management opportunity for an SMSTS qualified Site Manager or Senior Site Foreman to lead varied housing projects with a supportive regional contractor.

Responsibilities

As a Site Manager in Nottingham, your responsibilities will include (but not limited to):

  • Take overall responsibility for site delivery, ensuring quality standards, programme management and budget compliance
  • Manage health and safety compliance on site in line with CDM 2015, risk assessment protocols and internal governance procedures
  • Plan, coordinate and supervise subcontractors and site teams to deliver maintenance and refurbishment works efficiently
  • Maintain regular communication with clients, tenants and project teams to ensure transparency and satisfaction
  • Lead site progress meetings and provide updates to senior management and construction project leads
  • Promote a positive and collaborative working environment on site
  • Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure workmanship meets industry standards and client expectations
  • Travel between sites as required across Nottingham

Person

To be successful in this Site Manager job, you’ll bring experience working for a main contractor, ideally within the housing sector or working with local authorities.

  • Proven experience as a Construction Site Manager, Site Supervisor or Senior Site Foreman within housing maintenance or refurbishment environments
  • Strong leadership and site operations management skills to coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site-based project teams
  • Knowledge of building regulations, health and safety standards and local authority procedures
  • CSCS card holder (essential)
  • SMSTS qualified Site Manager certification (highly desirable but training can be provided)
  • Additional certifications such as First Aid, Temporary Works Supervisor and Scaffold Inspection (highly desirable but training can be provided)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality workmanship and maintaining long-term client satisfaction

Remuneration

As a Site Manager, you'll have the chance to shape site operations and influence project delivery with clear scope for career progression to Senior Site Manager or Contracts Manager roles.
