This Site Manager role in Manchester and the North West is an excellent opportunity to join an established delivery team and play a key role in delivering exciting projects from inception through to completion.

Our client is a reputable Tier 2 construction main contractor with a proven track record in delivering complex schemes, including schools, office spaces, supermarkets, and industrial builds up to £25m in value.

With a strong reputation for quality, collaboration, and integrity, they pride themselves on building lasting relationships with clients and partners while maintaining a strong focus on safety, efficiency, and sustainability.

Due to continued growth and an expanding project portfolio, they are now seeking an experienced Site Manager in the Manchester and North West region to strengthen their delivery team and support ongoing success across the region.

As Site Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of construction activities on site, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. You will coordinate site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers while ensuring all works are completed in line with programme requirements.

You will work closely with the Project Manager, commercial team, design consultants, and clients to ensure the successful delivery of projects from commencement through to completion.

Key responsibilities of the Site Manager include:

• Manage day-to-day site operations and coordinate all construction activities
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, and to specification
• Monitor progress against the construction programme and report accordingly
• Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and direct labour on site
• Maintain the highest standards of quality throughout the construction process
• Ensure compliance with all Health & Safety legislation and company procedures
• Conduct site inductions, toolbox talks, and regular safety inspections
• Identify and resolve issues that may impact programme or quality
• Manage site logistics, deliveries, and material coordination
• Monitor and maintain site records, including daily diaries and reports
• Liaise with clients, consultants, and project stakeholders throughout delivery
• Support the Project Manager with planning and project reporting requirements
• Ensure works are completed in accordance with drawings and specifications
• Drive a positive site culture focused on safety, quality, and productivity
• Assist with commissioning, snagging, and project handover activities

To be successful in this Site Manager role in Manchester and the North West, candidates should ideally have:

• Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry
• Experience delivering new build commercial, education, industrial, or mixed-sector projects
• Strong understanding of construction methods, sequencing, and site logistics
• Excellent leadership and team management skills
• Ability to manage multiple subcontractors and stakeholder relationships
• Strong communication and organisational abilities
• SMSTS, CSCS, and First Aid certification
• Temporary Works Coordinator certification is desirable
• Experience working on projects valued between £4m - £20m
• A proactive, organised, and solutions-driven approach to site management
