Atkins Search are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor position to join an established, multi-disciplinary construction main contractor based in Peterborough.

Based in Peterborough, our client are a construction main contractor specialised in delivering varied schemes across the residential, commercial and industrial sectors. Due to an increased order book, they are recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their established Commercial Team.

Role
As the Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be working as part of a forward-thinking commercial team to deliver affordable housing, private residential, commercial and industrial schemes throughout the region.
Reporting to the Senior Commercial team, you will be responsible for managing the Commercial aspect of projects throughout the region, alongside supporting junior members of the team.
Responsibilities
- Cost management and contractual control of live projects
- Managing subcontract accounts, procurement, and final accounts
- Working with site teams to assess contract risk and manage mitigation plans
- Collate and present monthly project reports to report to Senior team
- Update all costs across projects on a regular basis
- Assist the team with commercial and contractual expertise
- Assembling of costs for forecasting in line with site budgets
- Supporting junior members of the commercial team
- Develop and manage mitigation plans
Person
The ideal candidate for the Senior Quantity Surveyor job will have a proven track record in a similar role in either a construction main contracting or private residential developer environment. You will also need to be proactive, positive and confident communicating at all levels and able to work as part of a close-knit team.
- Relevant Quantity Surveying experience in a construction main contracting or residential environment
- 5+ years as a Quantity Surveyor
- Ambitious, career driven attitude
- Quantity Surveying degree/qualification
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel
