Role

As an Associate Director Project Manager, you will support the delivery of projects across a range of sectors including residential, sport & leisure, Industrial, commercial, and retail from inception to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will be responsible for overseeing more junior members of the team and supporting with the growth and development of the Manchester office.

The role requires strong communication skills, organisational skills, and the ability to balance multiple priorities, while maintaining a focus on client satisfaction and value creation. Responsibilities

As an Associate Director Project Manager based in Manchester, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and deliver multiple construction projects from inception through to completion, ensuring programme, cost, quality, and commercial objectives are consistently achieved.
  • Act as a trusted client advisor, providing strategic project management guidance and proactive solutions across complex developments.
  • Take full responsibility for procurement strategies, contract administration, and risk management, ensuring compliance with health, safety, and building regulations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Oversee and coordinate multidisciplinary project teams, including consultants, contractors, and key stakeholders, to drive high-quality outcomes and effective collaboration.
  • Play a key role in business development, identifying new opportunities, supporting bids and proposals, and cultivating long-term client relationships.
  • Contribute to the growth and leadership of the consultancy by mentoring junior team members, sharing best practice, and supporting operational and strategic initiatives, working closely with the wider business.
  • Administer and manage JCT contracts, CDM responsibilities, and overall Health & Safety compliance.
  • Oversee consultant performance to maintain statutory and safety standards across all sites.
  • Ensure projects are delivered within budget and meet financial targets.
  • Drive continuous improvement and best practices across all projects.

Person

To be successful as an Associate Director Project Manager in Manchester, you will align with our requirements and bring:

  • Chartered status (MRICS, MCIOB, MAPM, or equivalent) is highly desirable.
  • Extensive experience in project management within a consultancy environment, with a proven track record of leading major projects.
  • Strong commercial awareness and experience in business development and client management across the Northwest market.
  • Strong working knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts and construction procurement processes.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge of a full project life cycle with experience in managing multidisciplinary teams.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Full UK driving licence for site visits across the Northwest and surrounding areas.
  • Ambitious, proactive, driven, and keen to play a key role in a growing consultancy.
