Senior CDM and Health & Safety Consultant

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Senior CDM and Health & Safety Consultant to join a forward-thinking Construction Consultancy based in Leeds. Client
Our client is a well-established Construction Consultancy, recognised for their innovative approach and high-quality delivery in the construction sector. With a focus on safety, quality, and client satisfaction, they are seeking to expand their CDM and health & safety division with a senior consultant who is passionate about driving safety standards to new heights.
Role
To deliver CDM and Health & Safety services, you will take a leadership role in the development, implementation, and management of health and safety strategies across various construction projects. Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading health and safety audits and risk assessments on large-scale construction sites.
- Developing and enforcing health and safety policies, procedures, and frameworks.
- Act as Principal Designer and supporting clientele to manage against CDM regulations
- Providing expert advice to clients and project teams to ensure safety compliance.
- Taking ownership of health and safety performance and improving processes across multiple projects.
- Acting as the primary point of contact for clients on health and safety matters, including reporting and advisory.
- Ensuring that health and safety best practices are adhered to and continuously improved upon.
- Leading accident investigations and providing solutions to mitigate future risks.
- Engaging with stakeholders to ensure full project alignment with legal, regulatory, and safety standards.
Person
The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate
- NEBOSH Diploma Level (or equivalent)
- At least 5 years of experience in a health and safety role within the construction industry, with a focus on senior or management-level responsibilities.
- Proven experience in managing health and safety on large or complex construction projects.
- Chartered status with IOSH (or working towards) is essential.
- Member of the APS
- A deep understanding of construction health and safety legislation and best practices.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and lead by example.
- Excellent organisational skills with a track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Experience in developing and delivering training programs for teams.
- Ability to create a positive health and safety culture across a range of stakeholders.
