Quantity Surveyor

Atkins Search are currently working in partnership to support a multi-disciplinary construction consultancy in Wakefield, who’re looking for a Quantity Surveyor to work on complex construction schemes across Yorkshire and the wider region.

This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with hybrid working, excellent progression, and a highly respected construction consultancy known for its impact in healthcare, residential, commercial, education and conservation.

Our client is an award-winning Yorkshire based construction consultancy of Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Building Surveyors and Architects who provide a variety of services within Healthcare, Leisure, Residential, Education, Industrial, Commercial and many more exciting sectors.

As a Quantity Surveyor based in Leeds, you will be responsible for the following responsibilities:

• Supporting on a range of construction projects and supervising the work of the quantity surveyors, assistants and apprentices in your team and helping them to fulfil their potential.
• Liasing directly with the project client and the other consultants on the design team pre and post contract.
• Working closely with senior management to seek new project opportunities and promoting the services of the practice at every opportunity including attendance and involvement at appropriate networking and marketing events.
• Following the company Quality Management System in the delivery of all services.
• Managing multiple projects simultaneously and developing excellent time management strategies.
• Treating all clients to exceptional level of service.

The successful candidate for the Quantity Surveying role will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management or a related field.
• MRICS chartered or working towards
• Experience in running own projects within a quantity surveying capacity for either a Private Practice, Construction Consultancy or related organisation.
• Proficiency in measurement, ideally using CostX Measurement Software.
• Experience in supporting large, complex projects
• Strategically minded with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisational and managerial skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Skilled negotiator.
• Driving licence and own car.
• Willingness to travel to sites across the UK as required.
