International Women's Day 2023

Every year, International Women’s Day is globally celebrated and shines an extra light on the social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women around the world. The day also focuses on a theme each year and 2023’s theme is embracing equity.

#embracequity is the theme to get people talking about why equal opportunities aren’t enough. Kickstarting the conversation on celebrating women’s achievement, raising awareness on discrimination and taking action to drive gender parity.

Nicole, our recruitment specialist in the New Homes sector, wrote a statement on International Women’s Day 2023 and her thoughts on it:

For me, International Women’s Day is a celebration I can relate to. Something I try and live every day, having an open-mind and encouraging diversity and inclusion for all.

Atkins Search, Provides me with a secure and trusted environment where all women are championed and made to feel safe. “The sky is the limit” if you think a few stereotypes and a male-dominated market are going to stop us – don’t!

I specialise in the New Home sector, and I see the hard work that goes into the industry on day-to-day basis. I see strong and successful women paving the way for others and have become the faces of multi-million pound developers in the UK.

Construction Managers, Quantity Surveyors, Managing Directors and Land Managers, no role should be unachievable. For me, the biggest joy is seeing these women break the mould, change the stereotype and make real differences in the residential sector.  

Admittedly, we’ve still got a while to go but we should celebrate equality, diversity, and inclusion every single day and champion our colleagues to success so we can all be the best we can be.”
