Senior Quantity Surveyor

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and motivated Senior Quantity Surveyor to join a growing and forward-thinking construction consultancy. The team works across a broad range of sectors including industrial & logistics, education, healthcare, residential, infrastructure, commercial, and public sector schemes, delivering projects ranging from £1m to £200m+.

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take responsibility for the commercial management of projects from inception through to completion. You will work across both pre- and post-contract stages, ensuring effective cost control, procurement, and financial management throughout the project lifecycle.

You will play a key role in client engagement, supporting project delivery, and contributing to the wider team’s success. The role offers the opportunity to work on a varied portfolio of regional projects while developing your leadership and client-facing capabilities.

Key responsibilities include:

• Managing the commercial aspects of construction projects across all stages
• Preparing cost plans, estimates, and feasibility studies
• Leading procurement processes, including tendering and contract negotiation
• Administering contracts (JCT/NEC) and managing change control
• Monitoring project costs, valuations, and financial reporting
• Identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities
• Working closely with clients, consultants, and contractors
• Supporting project delivery to ensure programme, cost, and quality objectives are achieved
• Contributing to client meetings and providing commercial advice
• Supporting and mentoring junior team members
• Maintaining a proactive, solutions-focused approach to project challenges

The ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor will demonstrate:

• A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying
• Proven experience in a consultancy environment
• Ideally chartered or working towards chartership
• Strong all-round Quantity Surveying experience across pre- and post-contract stages
• Experience working across multiple sectors
• Knowledge of JCT and/or NEC contracts
• Ability to manage projects independently and take ownership of commercial delivery
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive, ambitious, and forward-thinking mindset
• A desire to contribute to business growth and long-term success
