This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Senior PM or Chartered Project Manager to join a forward-thinking consultancy delivering high-quality construction projects across healthcare, student accommodation, leisure and local authority developments throughout Birmingham and the wider UK.

ROLE

As a Senior Project Manager in Birmingham, you will take a leading role in the successful delivery of multiple construction schemes, ensuring programmes, budgets, quality standards and client expectations are met from inception to completion.

You will be responsible for project leadership across the full project lifecycle, risk management, stakeholder coordination and client communication, while also supporting and mentoring junior team members within the project management team.

This construction project management role will suit an experienced Senior Project Manager or Chartered Senior PM who enjoys a balance of project delivery, client engagement and commercial input. You'll have the tools and authority to lead complex builds with national visibility whilst working on award-winning developments across Birmingham and beyond.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Project Manager employed by our client, your duties will include:

  • Lead and manage multi-disciplinary project teams across a portfolio of construction schemes
  • Oversee full project lifecycle management from feasibility through to handover and completion
  • Develop project briefs, business cases and delivery strategies in line with client requirements
  • Manage programme management, budgets, risks and procurement routes under NEC and JCT contracts
  • Ensure robust governance, accurate reporting and quality control across all projects
  • Provide strategic project advice and stakeholder management to clients at all stages
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement and chair key project meetings with contractors and consultants
  • Identify and secure new work opportunities through relationship building and client development
  • Support work winning, bid writing and tender response activities
  • Mentor and develop junior project management staff, supporting their professional development
  • Uphold best practice and professional standards aligned with APM and RICS guidance
  • Work from the Birmingham office 3 days per week, with 2 days working from home
  • Manage your working pattern flexibly with complete autonomy over hours

PERSON

To be successful in this Senior Project Manager job in Birmingham, you will bring significant experience working within a construction consultancy or main contracting environment.

The ideal Senior Project Manager will demonstrate:

  • Chartered status (MAPM/MRICS) or working towards chartership with strong relevant experience in construction project management
  • Proven consultancy project management background, ideally 4+ years in a senior project leadership role
  • Strong understanding of project governance, procurement, programme management and risk management
  • Experience delivering construction projects in sectors such as healthcare, leisure, student accommodation or wider public sector schemes
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication and reporting skills to coordinate cross-functional teams
  • Commercial awareness with confidence in client-facing activity and work winning
  • Ability to build lasting relationships with clients and secure repeat business across the Midlands
  • Full UK driving licence for visiting sites across Birmingham and the wider UK
  • Ambitious with a long-term mindset and interest in contributing to business growth

REMUNERATION

Our client offers a competitive salary of £55,000 - £65,000 (DOE) and an excellent benefits package including:
