Role
As a Quantity Surveyor working in Nottingham, your key responsibilities will include:
- Preparing detailed Bills of Quantities, Schedules of Work and Tender Documents for construction projects in Nottingham and surrounding areas
- Administering contracts, under limited supervision, including reviewing payment applications and issuing interim valuation certificates under JCT, NEC and other standard forms of contract
- Demonstrating knowledge of different procurement routes: traditional, design and build, management contracting, etc.
- Preparing accurate financial reports and cashflow forecasts for internal and client use
- Managing change control procedures and variations for Nottinghamshire construction projects
- Managing tender processes and advising on procurement strategies for cost-effective building solutions
Responsibilities
The Quantity Surveyor position in Nottingham requires you to:
- Deliver professional quantity surveying services to clients across multiple sectors
- Provide expert cost advice throughout project lifecycles from inception to completion
- Work collaboratively with architects, engineers and contractors to ensure project delivery
- Contribute to the growth and development of the quantity surveying team
- Represent the company professionally at client meetings and site visits
- Stay current with industry standards, regulations, and best practices in construction cost management
Person
The ideal candidate for this Quantity Surveyor role in Nottingham will have:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management, or a related field
- Chartered status (MRICS) or commitment to achieving it within two years
- Experience working for a Private Practice, Construction Consultancy, or similar organisation
- Proficiency in CostX Measurement Software (preferred)
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the UK
