Atkins Search are recruiting for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join of the UK’s leading construction main contractors based in Derby.
Client
Our client is one of the most profitable and reputable construction main contractors across the industry, delivering a mix of minor and major projects across the public and private sectors, anywhere from £3m to £50m in value.
Due to expansion and recent work-winning success, our client has an opportunity for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join one of their divisions to deliver refurbishment and fit-out schemes across multiple sectors. With this expansion, comes an opportunity to lead the Commercial function for this division in the future, and build your own successful team.
Role
Working as part of a long-standing team, you will have commercial responsibility for projects across various disciplines and sectors including maintenance, fit-out and general construction with values of up to circa £5m.
You will have the opportunity to be involved with a real mix of schemes and contribute to the general operations of the business alongside project delivery.
Responsibilities
- Assemble costs for forecasting in line with site budgets
- Assess construction plans and prepare quantity requirements
- Prepare cost reports, analyses, contracts, budgets and risk assessments
- Subcontractor procurement and payment
- Collaborate with site teams to ensure projects are delivered on time and to budget
- Assisting with Pre-lets and reviewing drawings
- Reviewing JCT and NEC forms of contracts
Person
- Strong and capable communicator at all levels
- Contractually excellent – JCT and NEC
- Variety of project and sector knowledge
- Well networked with sub-contractors in the region
- Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills and build strong relationships with clients, consultants, supply chains and team members
- Capable of delivering projects on time and to budget
- Both Commercially and Operationally aware
Remuneration
Competitive salary plus car or allowance and package including a general holiday allowance and pension contribution (increases with time served), and private healthcare.
