M&E Engineer

Atkins Search are currently working with an industry leading M&E sub-contractor to recruit an experienced M&E Engineer to join the existing team in delivering a wide range of successful projects across the construction industry. Please note that BIM, Revit, and CAD Engineers with experience in the M&E industry will also be considered.

Based in Derbyshire, but operating on a national basis, our client holds over 100 years’ experience supplying heating, plumbing, ventilation, and air conditioning services to major construction main contractors across a wide array of sectors to include Healthcare, Education, Leisure, Residential, Food, Retail, and Blue Light.

To deliver a quality service and product to major clients in line with the project goals by working with the project team. You will be responsible for liaising with other members of the design team (Architects, Structural Engineers, Main Contractors design personnel and both our in-house design & Contracting personnel to coordinate and progress the drawings.

• You will also be responsible for producing, coordinating and dimensioning up Builders work bases, penetrations / pop up for incoming services / drainage / sumps and the like in order to satisfy our design with assisted direction from our design and contracting Depts.
• Assist in populating design information / equipment schedules for incorporation into drawings.
• Perform clash detection and resolution using Revit to identify and mitigate design conflicts early in the project lifecycle.
• Collaborate with the design team to integrate Revit models with architectural and structural models, ensuring accurate and clash-free coordination.
• You will be engaged in producing typical Contract drawings in Revit & or 2d CAD to include but not limited to trenching details, Heating, Air conditioning, CHW, Mechanical Ventilation / Natural Ventilation, Domestic H&CWS etc supporting the design department in this process.
• You will be required to produce supporting 2D CAD drawings in the form of Schematics for all the above services, provide sectional building / plant details.
• You will be required to liaise with the design department to ensure all drawing equipment has supporting equipment schedules embedded into the drawings prior to issue.

• Experience in populating 2D philosophy / concept M&E Drawings in 2D CAD / Revit / BIM from Stage 3 to 6 Design Levels.
• Experience in View Templates or Worksets.
• An understanding of a BEP (BIM execution plan).
• An understanding of the different BIM Levels and COBie requirements including the implementation of same.
• An understanding of clash detection and its use and collaborating with other members of the design team to overcome potential issues.
