Estimator

An established civils contractor based in Lincolnshire is seeking a talented Quantity Surveying and Estimating professional to join their team.

This hybrid role offers a unique opportunity to work across both pre-contract and post-contract phases - combining cost estimation, bid preparation, and financial oversight to ensure value delivery from concept to completion. This is a hands-on role with real impact, offering the chance to contribute directly to the success of each project.

The successful candidate will be responsible for both quantity surveying and estimating duties, supporting project delivery from tender stage through to completion. This hybrid role requires someone who is detail-oriented, commercially minded, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.

• Analyse project plans, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labour estimates.
• Analyse tender documents and prepare competitive bids
• Identify, analyse and develop responses to commercial risks.
• Conduct feasibility studies and cost planning·
• Monitor project progress and assess variations and claims
• Collaborate with project managers and clients to ensure cost-effective delivery
• Create interim applications
• Analyse outcomes and write detailed financial reports.
• Produce final accounts
• Support value engineering and risk management initiatives
• Generate customer and work stream opportunity appraisals

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in estimating or QS roles within civil engineering
• Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related field
• Knowledge and experience of JCT & NEC contracts
• Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and pricing
• Project management and budgeting skills
• Proficiency in estimating software (desirable)
