Document Controller
OVERVIEW
Are you an experienced Document Controller looking for your next role in the East Midlands?
Atkins Search is currently recruiting for a Document Controller to join a Leicester based public sector organisation, which gives you the opportunity to work on a healthcare capital programme worth an estimated £400million. This is a full time, ongoing contract role with a realistic potential of permanent employment in the future.
CLIENT
My client is a highly respected public sector organisation delivering critical healthcare services to local, regional and national stakeholders. They are responsible for the planning, delivery and governance of diverse and technically challenging capital projects, estates and maintenance programmes.
You’ll be joining an experienced, multi-disciplinary capital projects team working closely with operational, estates and financial stakeholders, as well as construction main contractors and consultancies across the full project and programme lifecycle.
ROLE
As a Document Controller, you will be responsible for supporting the team by helping keep project documentation updated inline with company procedures. Your duties will include (but not limited to):
- Preparing, operate and update Document Control Procedures in accordance with the company’s Document Management System
- Coordinate all activities related to the Document Control procedure including technical documents and drawings
- Liaise with designers and suppliers on queries regarding issues of information
- Check information on drawings and troubleshoot any problems to do with the drawing management
- Attend design team meetings to ensure the information required is available
- Assist in preparation of Handover Documents: - ensure record documents are received and filed for the administration staff to issue at handover
- General administrative duties
PERSON
To be successful in the Document Controller position, the ideal person will bring:
- Proven track record within Document Control (ideally using Viewpoint)
- Excellent IT and confident communication skills
- Strong administration skills
- Have a keen eye for detail
- Exceptional organisation skills
- Desire to succeed and progress
- Ability to demonstrate document control processes and procedures
- Able to work autonomously but also within a team
