My client is a well-established Chartered Surveying and Construction Consultancy, with experience supporting clients across residential, commercial, infrastructure, and utilities projects. They provide a comprehensive range of services including quantity surveying, project management, building surveying, asset management, and dispute resolution, working with major national clients.

Role

My client is seeking a skilled Chartered Building Surveyor in Manchester with residential sector experience to deliver Level 2 and Level 3 surveys, defect analysis, and professional advice for clients. This role offers the opportunity to work on a variety of residential projects, providing high-quality reports and technical guidance, while being part of a supportive and collaborative consultancy regulated by RICS.

Responsibilities

As a Chartered Building Surveyor in Manchester, your role will include:

  • Undertake Level 2 and Level 3 residential building surveys, homebuyer reports, and condition surveys.
  • Carry out defect analysis, diagnosis, and reporting, providing clear recommendations.
  • Deliver professional advice to clients on property maintenance, repair, refurbishment, and compliance.
  • Prepare detailed technical reports, schedules of condition, and specifications of works.
  • Oversee and administer small to medium-scale refurbishment and maintenance projects.
  • Manage client relationships, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across surveying and project management teams to support wider business services.

Person

To be successful in this Chartered Building Surveyor role in Manchester, you will bring significant experience working within the residential sector for either a consultancy or main contractor. Key requirements you should have are:

  • Degree qualified in Building Surveying or a related discipline.
  • RICS Chartered Building Surveyor
  • Proven experience in the residential sector, with a strong track record of completing Level 2 and Level 3 surveys.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building pathology and construction methods.
  • Excellent report writing and communication skills, with the ability to explain complex issues clearly to clients.
  • Commercially aware, client-focused, and able to manage workloads independently.
  • Team-oriented with strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative approach.
