ROLE

As a Building Surveyor, you’ll support senior colleagues in delivering a wide range of surveying and project management services. You’ll gain exposure to all stages of projects, from surveys and reporting through to contract administration and client liaison.

This role offers excellent training and mentoring, providing you with the foundation you need to develop towards chartership with RICS and build a successful career in Building Surveying.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Building Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

  • Deliver comprehensive building consultancy services to clients across multiple sectors
  • Provide expert technical advice throughout property lifecycles
  • Conduct professional building surveys and inspections to identify defects and recommend solutions
  • Prepare detailed specifications and schedules of work for repair and refurbishment projects
  • Manage construction projects from inception to completion
  • Liaise with clients, contractors, and statutory authorities
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant regulations and industry standards in the West Midlands

PERSON

To be successful in this Building Surveying job in Birmingham, the desirable person should demonstrate:

  • Degree in Building Surveying, or a related field
  • Chartered status (MRICS) or commitment to achieving it within two years
  • Experience working for a Private Practice, Construction Consultancy, or similar organisation
  • At least 5 years Post-Qualification Experience
  • Good working knowledge of IT is essential, with Microsoft Office, Excel & AutoCAD
  • Excellent communication and organisation skills
  • Experience in project delivery of the design and refurbishment of existing buildings, including Contract Administration role
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the UK

REMUNERATION
