Role

As an Associate Director Project Manager in Nottingham, you will sit within a well-established senior construction leadership team, reporting directly to the cost centre lead. You will have clear visibility of the bigger picture and the opportunity to contribute to strategic decision-making from the outset.

The role blends hands-on project delivery with a strong commercial and business development focus. You will help grow the Midlands portfolio, strengthen existing client relationships, and play a central role in expanding the consultancy's presence across the region. The expectation is approximately 80% office-based in Nottingham, keeping you closely connected to both the team and your client base.

Responsibilities

As Associate Director Project Management in Nottingham, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead and oversee project management delivery across a diverse portfolio of construction and built environment commissions in the Midlands.
  • Drive regional growth by identifying new opportunities, building client pipelines, and converting business development activity into secured work.
  • Strengthen and expand the consultancy's relationships across key sectors including education, healthcare, local authorities, trusts, and private developers.
  • Contribute to strategic planning and commercial decision-making as part of the senior leadership team.
  • Provide senior leadership and development to project management staff across the team.
  • Maintain and grow your Midlands network, acting as a visible and credible face of the consultancy in the region.
  • Oversee project performance, quality standards, and client satisfaction across your portfolio.
  • Support the Directors in shaping the longer-term direction and growth strategy of the business.

Person

  • Experience operating at Associate Director level within project management, or a Senior Project Manager who is clearly ready to make that step.
  • A background in construction consultancy is preferred, though transferable experience with the right commercial and client-facing skillset will be considered.
  • A strong and active Midlands network across sectors such as education, healthcare, local authorities, trusts and private developers.
  • Confident, credible communication skills to be able to represent the business at the highest level.
  • A commercially minded, ambitious mindset and a desire to help shape a growing business.
  • Comfortable with approximately 80% office presence in Nottingham to stay connected to the team and clients.
  • Degree-level qualification in Construction Management, Project Management, Quantity Surveying, or a related discipline.
  • Professional membership - MRICS, MAPM, MCIOB or equivalent preferred.
