Role
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor in York, you'll gain hands-on experience across both pre-contract and post-contract stages on diverse regional construction projects. Responsibilities
As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include:

- Assist with cost estimates, budgeting and financial reporting for residential and public sector schemes
- Support procurement processes including tender documentation, analysis and contractor selection
- Assist with monthly valuations, variation assessments and final account preparation
- Monitor project costs, cash flow forecasting and commercial performance reporting
- Support contract administration under JCT and NEC contract forms
- Liaise professionally with clients, contractors and design team consultants
- Attend site visits, project meetings and internal team briefings
- Provide accurate and timely cost information to support project delivery
- Develop technical knowledge through structured training and APC mentorship
Person
To be successful in this quantity surveyor job in York, you will demonstrate:
- A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related built environment discipline (or working towards completion)
- 1-2 years' experience in construction consultancy, contracting or cost management, or a strong academic record as a recent graduate
- Candidates welcomed from residential, commercial, infrastructure, housing or contractor backgrounds
- Awareness of JCT and NEC contract forms is desirable but not essential
- Strong communication skills and ability to build professional relationships

Remuneration
