Atkins Search are recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor on behalf of a Leicestershire based construction main contractor.
Client
Our client are construction main contractor with an enviable client base and repeat business. Operating across a mix of sectors including healthcare, education and commercial, our client deliver refurbishments and new build schemes with values ranging between £1m - £5m.
Role
Based out of the head office, the function of the Assistant Quantity Surveying role will be to support the Commercial team with the day to day commercial/surveying activities of the projects, provide continuous liaison with the operational teams to ensure understanding of commercial matters relating to the project and support successful operational delivery and place orders with sub-contractors and suppliers.
Responsibilities
- Assist the project teams by communicating the finances and budget against project progress
- Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills and build strong relationships with clients, consultants, supply chains and team members
- Assist the project team in production of and meeting or exceeding project targets
Person
- Minimum of 2 years' experience operating as an Assistant QS on behalf of a building main contractor
- Experience of various forms of construction technology
- Understanding of Microsoft Office and MS Excel
- Experience with a main contractor or fit-out specialist
- Experience of relevant project delivery
- Understanding of main contract and sub-contract conditions and documents
- An Ability to confidently comment on contract conditions, produce complete sub-contract documents etc.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying
- Experience of JCT form of contract
