Traffic Marshal

Due to increasing site activity, we’re seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Traffic Marshal to manage vehicle movements and maintain a safe working environment for operatives and visitors.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Banksman to play a key role in site safety and logistics across a variety of construction projects.

As a Traffic Marshal (Banksman) on site in London, your responsibilities will include:

• Safely guide vehicles and plant machinery on-site using approved hand signals
• Safely guide vehicles into the site in a calm and confident manner
• Maintain clear communication with drivers and site personnel, sometimes via Radio Link
• Ensure all traffic movements are conducted in line with site risk assessments and method statements
• Monitor entry and exit points to control site access
• Assist with deliveries and ensure safe unloading procedures
• Identify and report hazards, near misses, or unsafe practices
• Maintain a safe working environment for pedestrians and operatives
• Keep the entry into site clean, tidy and free from any debris
• Support site management with general health and safety duties

To be successful in this Traffic Marshal job, you will need:

• Valid Traffic Marshal / Banksman certificate (e.g., CPCS, NPORS, or equivalent)
• CSCS card (essential)
• Previous experience in a similar role on a construction site
• Good understanding of UK health and safety regulations
• Ability to use Radio communications
• Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure
• High level of awareness and attention to detail
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Desirable:

• First Aid at Work certification
• Experience working on large or high-traffic construction sites
