Atkins Search have a great opportunity for a Technical Co-ordinator to work for a growing residential developer, who are based in Litchfield, that pride themselves on producing high end homes & apartments across the West Midlands & Midlands. We are now seeking an experienced Technical Co-ordinator to assist the Technical Director in progressing projects from planning through the pre-construction process to a start on site and plot completion.

This is a full-time, permanent role with a reputable residential housing developer offering excellent progression, competitive salary package, and the chance to oversee diverse schemes from inception to completion.

As a Technical Co-Ordinator in the West Midlands, you’ll work in a small team delivering key design information to other departments so that schemes can progress through to construction phase whilst also providing a supporting role to live sites.

The successful candidate must have experience in managing design consultants and demonstrate good communication skills to ensure that briefs and objectives are clearly understood and delivered. A desire to solve problems and to work under own initiative to deliver design packs whilst interacting with other departments in a pro-active manner are key attributes.

As a Technical Co-Ordinator in Lichfield, your responsibilities will include:

• To review, collate and coordinate design information from consultants and subcontractors to ensure they fully complement each other.
• Evaluate design proposals to ensure buildability, safety and compliance with the design brief and legislation such as Building Regulations, Planning and CDM.
• Managing the flow of information and document control to both internal colleagues and external organisations.
• Organising, chairing and minuting design meetings either in person or on Teams to facilitate collaboration and drive the design process.
• Submission and obtaining quotes for new supplies and/or diversion of existing statutory utilities.
• Co-ordination and submission of information to discharge planning conditions and other regulatory approvals, such as Building Regs, S278, S104 etc.
• Liaising with commercial and construction departments to ensure design solutions are cost effective and buildable whilst adhering to regulatory standards.
• Collation and recording of as-built information and commissioning certificates including submission prior to final site inspections to release warranty and building regs certificates.

To be successful in this Technical Co-Ordinator West Midlands job, you must have experience in managing design consultants and have a high level of communication skills.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a design co-ordination or similar role.
• Education – A degree or HNC/HND in some form of construction and or engineering related field.
• Technical Knowledge – A good understanding of the Building Regulations, Building Safety Act, Planning System, CDM Regulations are most desirable. Whilst not essential knowledge of adoptable highways (S38/278), drainage (S104) and general civil engineering design would be preferred.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within an open office environment and liaise effectively with both internal and external parties.
• Organisational skills with strong time management to be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to effectively use AutoCAD to prepare/edit drawings prepared in house.
