Role
As a Site Manager in Northampton, you'll be responsible for managing day-to-day operations on construction sites, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with the Project Manager and commercial team, you’ll coordinate subcontractors, oversee site activities, and maintain strong communication with all stakeholders.

Responsibilities
Your responsibilities as a Site Manager will include:
- Manage day-to-day site operations, ensuring work is delivered in line with programme and specifications
- Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and site teams to maintain efficient workflow
- Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards on site
- Monitor project progress and report updates to the Project Manager and senior management
- Conduct site inspections and quality checks to ensure work meets required standards
- Identify and resolve site issues, minimising delays and risks to the programme
- Oversee site logistics, materials, and resource planning
- Ensure site documentation, permits, and reports are accurately maintained
- Chair site meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Support the successful handover of projects, ensuring all works are completed to client satisfaction
Person
To succeed in this Site Manager job, you’ll bring strong experience managing construction sites and the ability to lead teams to deliver projects safely and efficiently.
Essential:
- Proven experience as a Site Manager within the construction industry
- Experience delivering projects valued between £5 million and £20 million
- SMSTS certification
- CSCS Black or Gold Card
- First Aid at Work certification
- Ability to pass SC Clearance
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and site management
- Excellent leadership and communication skills
- Strong organisational and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work under pressure and meet project deadlines
Desirable:
- NVQ Level 6 in Construction Management or equivalent qualification
- Experience working on healthcare, education, or commercial construction projects
- Temporary Works Coordinator or Supervisor certification
- Strong IT skills, including use of project management software
