Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will take ownership of multiple projects across the residential, commercial and retail sectors, acting as a trusted advisor to clients whilst managing the full quantity surveying process from inception through to completion.

Reporting directly to the Associate Directors, you will be responsible for leading projects independently, chairing meetings, maintaining strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, and ensuring successful project delivery.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Senior Quantity Surveyor from either a consultancy or contractor background who is looking to join a growing business where their contribution will have a genuine impact. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the company's continued growth whilst relieving pressure on the senior leadership team, allowing them to focus on business development and strategic expansion.

Responsibilities

As Senior Quantity Surveyor in Manchester, your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing projects independently across a range of residential, commercial, and retail developments
  • Delivering full pre- and post-contract quantity surveying services
  • Preparing cost plans, estimates, budgets and feasibility studies
  • Managing procurement processes and tender evaluations
  • Undertaking contract administration and cost management throughout project lifecycles
  • Chairing project meetings and acting as a key point of contact for clients and consultants
  • Building and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Providing commercial advice and reporting throughout project delivery
  • Managing project risks and identifying opportunities for value engineering
  • Supporting and mentoring junior members of the team where required
  • Working collaboratively with Directors and Associates to ensure successful project outcomes
  • Contributing positively to the company culture and team environment

Person

To be successful in this Senior Quantity Surveyor role in Manchester, you will bring strong project delivery experience and the confidence to manage client relationships independently.

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or a related discipline
  • Proven experience operating as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience managing projects independently from inception to completion
  • Consultancy or contractor-side experience considered
  • Strong commercial awareness and technical quantity surveying knowledge
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable chairing meetings and presenting to clients
  • High-rise residential experience beneficial but not essential
  • Ambitious, personable and relationship-focused approach
  • Strong team player with the ability to fit into a close-knit environment
  • Looking for a long-term career moves with genuine progression opportunities
  • Full UK driving licence

Remuneration
