Senior Estimator

Atkins Search are currently recruiting for a Senior Estimator on behalf of a well-established, respected main contractor based in Derby. This is a senior-level opportunity to join a growing pre-construction team and take a lead role in pricing and securing varied high-quality construction projects across the East Midlands.

As a Senior Estimator, you’ll take a lead role in managing tenders, preparing cost plans and supporting the pre-construction strategy across a range of traditional and design & build schemes. You’ll have visibility across all stages of the bid process and contribute to strategic decision-making on key opportunities.

This is an ideal role for an experienced Estimator looking to take the next step or a current Senior Estimator seeking more autonomy and influence in a regional delivery-focused business.

As a Senior Estimator, you’ll take a lead role in managing tenders, preparing cost plans and supporting the pre-construction strategy across a range of traditional and design & build schemes. You’ll have visibility across all stages of the bid process and contribute to strategic decision-making on key opportunities.

Lead the preparation of detailed cost estimates and tender submissions

Develop cost plans and budget estimates at pre-construction stage

Analyse drawings specifications and employer requirements

Manage and liaise with subcontractors and supply chain partners for pricing

Conduct risk analysis and value engineering assessments

Contribute to bid strategy ensuring commercially competitive and compliant submissions

Attend pre-tender meetings site visits and client briefings

Assist with handover to operations teams post-award

Mentor junior members of the estimating team where appropriate
