As a Senior Electrical Estimator, you will report directly to the Estimating Director and play a vital role in producing accurate and competitive estimates for electrical construction projects ranging in value from £300k to £8m.

You will liaise closely with clients, contractors, and internal departments, evaluating project requirements, analysing tender documentation, and developing cost-effective, detailed bids.

As a Senior Electrical Estimator in Derby, your responsibilities will include:

• Prepare accurate and comprehensive cost estimates for electrical projects, covering materials, labour, equipment, subcontractors, and overheads.
• Deliver precise bids and proposals aligned with project timelines and budgets.
• Provide consultation on planning (schedules, manpower needs).
• Obtain and review offers and quotes (sub-contractors, materials).
• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with suppliers, project managers, and key stakeholders.
• Provide regular updates to the Business Unit Director and attend weekly reporting meetings.
• Review project plans, technical drawings, and scope of works to ensure clarity and precision in estimating.
• Conduct on-site visits to assess project feasibility and identify potential challenges.
• Analyse project risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to negotiate competitive pricing and terms.
• Develop and present detailed bid documents and cost breakdowns to clients and stakeholders.
• Negotiate contracts and ensure alignment with profit targets and delivery objectives.
• Maintain detailed records and databases for ongoing and completed estimates.
• Stay updated on electrical industry trends, construction market pricing, and competitor activity.

To be successful in this Senior Electrical Estimator role in Derby, you will need:
