Senior Contracts Manager

Atkins Search are currently recruiting a Senior Contracts Manager role to join an established, leading construction main contractor in the East Midlands. The role will be part of the operational senior leadership team, integral to the delivery of current and future projects.

Our client is a well-respected, profitable main contractor with a proven track record of working collaboratively with sub-contractors to deliver projects on time and to budget.

Projects will be varied and complex, including commercial, education, leisure and healthcare schemes with values between £1m to £15m in value. Due to a consistent level of growth in the past 2 years, the client now has an opportunity to add a construction professional to the Contracts Management team.

Operating as the Senior Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for a range of projects to fit your experience profile. If you are small works under £5m schemes, or larger projects £5m+ then they will accommodate your workload to your experience.

As the Senior Contracts Manager, you will manage 2/ 3 new build or refurbishment projects dependent on the size and complexity.

• Managing the efficient and economical execution of contracts under the main contract conditions, producing the maximum return to the company to promote on-going and future work with clients and consultants.
• Working in conjunction with the Project Manager and delivery team, ensuring accurate construction whilst maintaining quality and progress
• Provide sound advice, guidance and support to the project team throughout pre-construction and construction phases.
• Promote the well-being
  of your teams and ensure that an inclusive workplace where diversity of thought, backgrounds and experience is actively encouraged and achieved.
• Manage multiple Projects concurrently with a hands-on and positive approach.
• Working closely with the planning team, you may need to undertake some project Planning also.

• You will need to have a proven track record working as a Contracts Manager in a construction main contracting environment, delivering similar projects. Having worked for either a Tier 1 national or Tier 2 regional, you will also need to be proactive, positive and confident communicating at all levels and able to lead and work with site teams.
• A proven leader of site teams, with a track record of delivering projects on time and to budget.
• Proactive management style, a problem solver by nature.
• Ability to build relationships with sub-contractors on a peer-to-peer level.
• As a visiting Contracts Manager, you will need to have the ability to work autonomously or as part of a team.
• Strong and clear communicator.
• Experienced in reporting progress to business Directors in project update meetings.
• JCT contract experience.
• Commitment to health & safety and risk management.
