OVERVIEW
Are you a Quantity Surveyor looking for your next step in the South West? We’re hiring a Quantity Surveyor in Bristol to deliver complex construction schemes across Bristol and the wider Southern regions. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity with hybrid working, excellent progression, and a highly reputable construction consultancy known for its impact in Education, Leisure, Commercial, Retail, Aerospace and Manufacturing sectors.

CLIENT
Our client is a respected consultancy with a strong reputation for delivering project management and cost consultancy services. Working across commercial, residential, public sector, and mixed-use developments, they pride themselves on providing practical solutions and building long-standing relationships with their clients.
This role offers the chance to work on a variety of projects across the capital and wider region, supporting clients, consultants, and contractors to ensure projects are delivered within budget and to the highest standards. With an expanding workload, they are now looking to strengthen their Bristol team with the addition of an experienced Quantity Surveyor.
ROLE
As a Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for managing the financial and contractual aspects of construction projects from inception to completion. You will work closely with clients and project teams to ensure cost efficiency, value for money, and commercial success.
This role would suit a Quantity Surveyor with consultancy or client-side experience and a background in managing multiple projects simultaneously.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Quantity Surveyor in Bristol, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing cost estimates, budgets, and feasibility studies
- Managing tender processes, including preparing bills of quantities and contract documentation
- Carrying out valuations of work in progress and preparing interim applications for payment
- Monitoring project costs and preparing financial reports
- Negotiating and agreeing final accounts
- Advising on procurement strategies and contract management
- Ensuring compliance with contractual and legal requirements
- Delivering a high level of client service and communication
PERSON
To be successful in this Quantity Surveyor job in Bristol, candidates should ideally have:
- Previous experience as a Quantity Surveyor within a construction consultancy
- Relevant degree-level qualification (or equivalent) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
- Professional chartership (or working towards it) preferred but not essential
- Strong numerical, analytical, and commercial awareness
- Good knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts (JCT, NEC etc.)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- A proactive approach and commitment to client satisfaction
REMUNERATION
