- OverviewAtkins Search are recruiting for a Project Quantity Surveyor to join one of the region's leading construction main contractors based in Northampton, delivering a mix of projects across the region.ClientOur client is a region leading Main Contractor with an enviable reputation for delivering varied and interesting projects across the public and private sectors. You will be involved with a mix of schemes across the education, MOD, leisure, blue light and heritage sectors.RoleOperating as a Project Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the delivery of projects across the region with values of up to circa £30m. Working alongside the delivery team, you will manage contractual and cost management with involvement from pre-construction stages through to delivery.Responsibilities
- Update all costs across projects on a regular basis
- Assist the team with commercial and contractual expertise
- Assembling of costs for forecasting in line with site budgets
- Assemble costs for forecasting in line with site budgets
- Assess construction plans and prepare quantity requirements
- Prepare cost reports, analyses, contracts, budgets and risk assessments
- Subcontractor procurement and paymentPerson
- Excellent man management skills
- Strong and capable communicator at all levels
- Contractually excellent - JCT and NEC
- Variety of project and sector knowledge
- Well networked with sub-contractors in the region
- Demonstrate excellent negotiation skills and build strong relationships with clients, consultants, supply chains and team members
