Atkins Search are recruiting for a Project Manager in Nottingham to join an established, award-winning construction main contractor with a strong presence in the Midlands. This is a full-time, permanent management position offering project leadership across diverse, high-value projects ranging from £1m - £45m.
Client
Our client is a financially robust, well-respected construction main contractor with a strong presence across Nottingham and the East Midlands. Known for collaborative working practices, they maintain trusted relationships with subcontractors and clients to deliver high-quality schemes on time and within budget.
Their diverse portfolio of projects spans commercial construction, education, leisure and healthcare construction projects, combining traditional delivery methods with modern project controls and sustainability frameworks. Following two years of consistent growth, they are expanding their contracts management team and seeking an experienced construction professional to lead their contract delivery programme.
Role
Operating as the Project Manager, you will be responsible for large-scale projects in the business with values ranging from £1m - £45m. As a Project Manager, you will be supported by site delivery teams to ensure quality and progress is maintained throughout delivery.
Responsibilities
As a Project Manager in Nottingham, your responsibilities will include:
- Working in conjunction with the site team, ensuring accurate construction whilst maintaining quality and progress
- Responsible for providing sound advice, guidance, and support to the project team throughout pre-construction and construction phases
- Produce and manage programme of works
- Monitor all site health and safety procedures and compliance by all site personnel
- Liaise with supply chain team to ensure compliance and effective site set up
- Ensure quality of workmanship in line company expectations
- Deliver projects to agreed program of works
- Monitor program of works and identify shortfalls and solutions
Person
To be successful in this Project Manager position in Nottingham, you will being significant experience working within a main contracting construction environment, ideally for a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor.
- Strong Communication skills
- Person management/Delegation skills
- Experience delivering a mixture of projects including refurbishment, fit-out and new build with values of circa £10m to £20m
- A good understanding of the building regulations, local authority agreements
- A methodical, professional, and collaborative approach
- Ability to organise your workload
- Ability to create a positive and organised site
- SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, Temporary works
- Knowledge of contract conditions and law within the industry
- Sound commercial awareness with a commitment to health & safety and risk management
