Head of Planning

Atkins Search have recently been retained to recruit a "Head of Planning" role for one of Nottingham's leading main contractors with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality projects across a variety of sectors. Focused on Tender Planning and Preconstruction, this role will be operating at a strategic level to work within and support the Preconstruction function.

As the Head of Planning, you will be a key member of the Preconstruction team, leading the front end planning function, focused on supporting the strategic direction and work winning for the business.

• Tender Planning
• Team leadership
• Preconstruction and front end strategy
• Support framework relationships
• Develop and maintain project programmes and prelims from tender stage through to completion
• Attend client meetings to presents plans and programmes of work
• Collaborate with project teams to ensure realistic and achievable schedules
• Conduct regular programme reviews and updates, identifying risks and mitigation strategies
• Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and stakeholders to ensure alignment with project objectives
• Utilise industry-standard planning software (Asta Powerproject) to produce detailed schedules and reports

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Senior Construction Planner within a main contractor environment, tendering and delivering major D&B projects
• Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, sequencing, and best practices
• Proficiency in Asta Powerproject
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work on multiple projects and meet strict deadlines
