Finishing Foreman

We’re looking for an experienced Freelance Finisher / Foreman to lead the final stages of a healthcare centre based in Belper.

The Finishing Foreman for will be responsible for supervising and coordinating all finishing works to ensure the facility is completed to the highest standards of quality, hygiene, safety, and regulatory compliance.

ROLE: Finishing Foreman (Belper)

The role involves managing specialized healthcare finishes, coordinating multiple trades, enforcing infection control and HSE requirements, and ensuring all works meet healthcare authority standards. The Finishing Foreman plays a key role in inspections, snagging, and final handover, ensuring the centre is fully compliant, clean, and ready for operation

Key responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate all finishing works within the healthcare centre
• Manage specialized healthcare finishes such as vinyl flooring, hygienic ceilings, antimicrobial paints, wall protection, and joinery
• Ensure all finishes comply with healthcare regulations, infection control standards, and approved specifications
• Monitor workmanship quality and carry out snagging to achieve zero-defect handover
• Enforce strict cleanliness, dust control, and housekeeping procedures during finishing works
• Plan and sequence finishing activities to avoid contamination of completed clinical areas
• Ensure health, safety, and environmental controls are followed at all times
• Verify approved materials, certifications, and correct installation methods
• Liaise with project managers, consultants, subcontractors, and health authority inspectors
• Track progress and report issues, risks, and delays to site management
• Support final inspections, deep cleaning, and handover readiness for healthcare operation

• Proven experience as a Finishing Foreman or Finishing Supervisor
• Previous experience on healthcare projects (healthcare centres, hospitals, clinics, laboratories) is highly desirable
• Strong background in high-quality internal finishes and defect-free handovers
• Experience working in live or sensitive environments preferred
• Excellent organisation and the ability to manage multiple plots simultaneously
• CSCS card essential; SSSTS/SMSTS desirable

• This freelance Finishing Manager opportunity in Belper offers:
• Day rate up to £260 per day, depending on experience
• Long-term contract opportunity, up to 4 months,
• Work on a Healthcare Centre Project
• Opportunity to work with an established main contractor
• Potential on going opportunities following the completion of this project.
