Atkins Search are recruiting for a Contracts Manager role to join an established, family run main contractor based in Sheffield who have been in operation for over 30 years so have decades of experience running successful projects throughout the UK.
Client
Our client is a very successful main contractors based in Sheffield, delivering varied projects from Motor Retail, Industrial, Commercial, Retail with values of up to circa £10m. Due to an increase in workload, there is an opportunity for an experienced Contracts Manager to join the team.

Role
Operating as the Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for multiple projects in the business with values of circa £5m. As the Contracts Manager, you will be supported by site delivery team to ensure quality and progress is maintained throughout delivery.
As the Contracts Manager, you will manage anywhere between 1-2 larger scale projects throughout the UK, which will be a mix of new build and extension schemes. You will also be involved in the Planning aspects of the projects.
Responsibilities
- Provide sound advice, guidance and support to the project team throughout pre-construction and construction phases.
- Manage multiple Projects concurrently with a hands-on and positive approach Plan and coordinate the project programme
- Manage JCT Contracts and handle changes/claims
- Control costs, budgets, and payments
- Oversee site progress, quality, and subcontractors
- Communicate with clients and stakeholders
- Manage risks and resolve issues
Person
The ideal candidate for the Contracts Manager job will have a proven track record as a Contracts Manager in a construction main contracting environment, delivering similar projects. You will also need to be proactive, positive and confident communicating at all levels and able to work as part of a team.
- Strong Communication skills.
- Person management/Delegation skills.
- Experience delivering a mixture of projects including new build & Extensions with values of circa £5m to £15m
- A methodical, professional, and collaborative approach
- Ability to organise your workload
- Ability to create a positive and organised site
- SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, Temporary works
- Knowledge of contract conditions and law within the industry
- Sound commercial awareness with a commitment to health & safety and risk management
Renumeration.
You will have a forum to build an established career, surrounded by like minded individuals.
- Salary between 65k-75k
- Company Car or Car Allowance up to £6,500 per annum
