Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Atkins Search are currently recruiting for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join a market leading, specialist Construction Main Contractor based in North Yorkshire.

Please note that the successful candidate for this role can be based anywhere across the North and Midlands as there is a high degree of hybrid working.

Client

My client is a specialist construction company specialising in delivering high-quality construction and refurbishment projects across various sectors, including healthcare, education, restoration, and retail across the UK.

Role

As the Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you will be working as part of a forward-thinking commercial team to deliver a mix of commercial, healthcare, education and residential schemes with values of circa £200k to £2m.

Working alongside the Quantity Surveying Director, your job will be to support in the delivery of projects in a cost-effective, quality focused manor. Due to the expansion of the business, there are genuine opportunities to progress in your role and build a long-term career.

Responsibilities

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor, you’ll play a key role in projects from start to finish. In this varied and rewarding role, you’ll play a pivotal part in project delivery from inception to completion, including:

  • Delivering Cost Management services with precision and insight
  • Conducting cost planning, management, and reporting to keep projects on track
  • Driving value engineering to optimise efficiency and achieve client goals
  • Managing tenders, budgets, and contracts with confidence
  • Acting as Employer’s Agent, ensuring the smooth progression of each project
  • Carrying out valuations and financial analysis, supporting project decision-making

Person

  • Hold a full UK driving license
  • Willing to travel on a national basis
  • Hold a basic DBS Check or be able/willing to pass one
  • Enthusiastic
  • Motivated and Driven
  • Have the ability to work within a fast-paced environment
  • Ideally have experience within a Construction Main Contractor (Consultancy experience will also be considered)
