We’re recruiting for a Site Manager to deliver a wide range of public sector building projects across the East Midlands from school refurbishments in live environments to boiler and roof replacements, extensions and modular building installations. Our client is a well-established Midlands construction and property services provider delivering multidisciplinary design, build, management and maintenance services on behalf of public-sector clients. The organisation supports regeneration and economic growth across Nottinghamshire by providing value for money, quality output and customer excellence.
ROLE :
As a Site Manager, you’ll be based in the East Midlands managing teams of contractors, undertaking inductions, setting out daily plans and monitoring progress. You will ensure the successful delivery of multiple projects, maintaining high standards of safety, quality and compliance while meeting programme and budget constraints.
Key Responsibilities for the Site Manager
- Ensure delivery plans/programmes are provided for allocated sites and actively monitored and managed.
- Oversee day-to-day management of operations on-site, dealing with issues as they arise and ensuring projects are completed to programme, budget, brief and quality constraints.
- Proactively manage sites in a safe manner in accordance with company Health and Safety procedures and statutory requirements (including asbestos, fire and legionella).
- Carry out safety inspections and ensure construction and site safety.
- Plan and efficiently organise the site set-up and logistics.
- Follow standard templates for NEC contractual forms and trackers with the project team to manage information flow and change control efficiently.
PERSON
We’re looking for people with a solid foundation in site management who want to be part of a bigger team and work on varied projects where they can drive change and make a difference.
Essential:
- Extensive site management / project delivery experience within a construction contracting business, including live sites and refurbishments.
- Broad understanding of the design process and the challenges in getting a project to site.
- CIOB Level 4 Certificate in Construction Site Management (or equivalent).
- Demonstrable knowledge of NEC forms in the context of change control on site and provision of project clarifications with the design team and subcontractors.
- SMSTS Certificate.
- First Aid Certificate.
- Strong construction, commercial, and supply-chain management skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills to present technical information and influence varied audiences.
- Full UK driving licence with business insurance.
- Desirable
- Public-sector project delivery experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
