Site Engineer

Atkins Search are recruiting for a Site Engineer on behalf of our client, who are a successful Civil Engineering and Construction contractor based in Derby.

Please note – Site Engineers that are still in the early stages of their career and are looking for an opportunity to gain experience are also encouraged to apply for this role.

Our client is an established, privately owned contractor with over 40 years’ experience in the industry delivering a variety of exciting Civil Engineering and Construction schemes across the UK.

In this role you will be responsible for all engineering aspects on site, specifically the setting out of the work and achieving accurate dimension control. You will be working closely with the Site Manager and offering support to the Trainee/Assistant Site Engineers that you may be working with.

As they are a nationally operating business, successful candidates will be required to lodge away from home during the working week for some projects.

• Ensuring safety is of the highest importance in all aspects of work completed.
• Making sure all works are accurately set out and constructed in accordance with the contract documentation.
• Assist with coordination of labour, plant, and subcontractors.
• Assisting the Site Manager to complete and process site administration documents.
• Reviewing drawings and resolving any discrepancies at an early stage.
• Determining the sequence of setting out the works to achieve required tolerances.
• Effectively communicate with Site managers, Assistant Engineers, and other figures in the business.

• Experience in a Site Engineer position who can take responsibility for all aspects of engineering for the construction of works on site.
• Confident communicator at all levels.
• Previous experience of Power T & D, battery storage, anaerobic digestion and renewable energy projects would be an advantage but not essential for the right person.
• AutoCAD experience.
• Comfortable with working on sites across the UK and lodging away in the week.
