Client

Our client is a renowned multidisciplinary construction and property consultancy providing cost management, project management and advisory services across a range of sectors including Healthcare, Education, Commercial, Residential and Infrastructure.

With an established reputation for delivering complex projects and building long-term client relationships, they continue to secure major frameworks and commissions within the healthcare sector. Due to sustained growth, they are seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their Sheffield office and support the successful delivery of a growing project portfolio.

Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor based in Sheffield, you will be responsible for the following:

  • Managing the commercial delivery of healthcare construction projects from inception through to completion.
  • Preparing and reviewing cost plans, estimates, budgets and tender documentation.
  • Undertaking procurement activities and advising clients on procurement strategies.
  • Supporting contract administration and managing post-contract cost control processes.
  • Monitoring project expenditure and reporting on cost performance throughout project lifecycles.
  • Liaising directly with clients, consultants, contractors and key stakeholders.
  • Providing mentorship and support to junior quantity surveying team members.
  • Identifying and managing project risks, opportunities and value engineering initiatives.
  • Ensuring projects are delivered in line with client objectives, budget requirements and programme targets.
  • Supporting business development activities and maintaining strong client relationships.

Person

The successful candidate for the Senior Quantity Surveyor role will be able to demonstrate the following attributes:

  • Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management or a related discipline.
  • MRICS Chartered status or working towards chartership.
  • Proven experience working within a construction consultancy or professional services environment.
  • Experience delivering healthcare projects is desirable, although candidates from other sectors will also be considered.
  • Strong understanding of pre-contract and post-contract quantity surveying services.
  • Excellent commercial awareness and contractual knowledge.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and client relationships simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • A proactive, client-focused approach to project delivery.
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project locations as required.
