Senior Quantity Surveyor

Due to continued growth and a strong project pipeline, DKP are currently recruiting for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their high-performing team.

ROLE
As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will play a key role in delivering cost consultancy services on a variety of private sector developments. You’ll work closely with clients, architects, contractors, and other consultants to manage and oversee all financial aspects of construction projects, from feasibility through to final account.
Projects will vary across fit out, refurbishment and new builds, up to £20m. This is a client-facing role offering significant scope for career progression and the opportunity to contribute to the strategic growth of our consultancy.
You will also be expected to support/mentor younger members of staff, supporting them to achieve their full potential.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Deliver full pre- and post-contract QS services on multiple concurrent contracts
- Prepare Feasibility Studies and Cost Planning
- Lead procurement and tendering processes for contractors and consultants
- Preparation of tender documents for a variety of procurement routes
- Manage contract administration including valuations, variations, and final accounts
- Carry out value engineering and cost-saving exercises
- Monitor and manage project budgets including cost reporting and cash flow statements
- Advise clients on contractual and commercial risks and opportunities
- Build and maintain strong client relationships, contributing to repeat business
- Support and mentor junior surveyors and team members
- Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, contract forms, and internal procedures
PERSON
Education/Experience
- BSc in Quantity Surveying or similar construction-related discipline
- Professionally qualified, MRICS preferred but other relevant professional qualifications acceptable
- Minimum 5+ years' post qualification experience, in a UK consultancy environment
- Proven track record on private sector projects (commercial, residential, industrial, retail, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of JCT and NEC suites of contracts and other standard forms of contract
- Commercially astute with excellent communication skills and client-facing manner
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and cost management software (e.g., CostX)
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel when required

REMUNERATION
In return for your efforts, the Senior Quantity Surveyor will receive a highly competitive salary and package:
