We’re hiring a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Leicester to provide commercial leadership across complex design and build schemes within the industrial, logistics, manufacturing, data centre and distribution sectors. You’ll manage the full commercial lifecycle across multiple high-value projects throughout Leicester and the wider East Midlands region.
This is a permanent, full-time position, predominantly office-based in Leicester with occasional site visits each month. You’ll typically work on projects valued at £50m+, with clear career progression and structured pay reviews every 6 months.

Our client is a respected multidisciplinary Construction Consultancy with a proven track record delivering major construction projects across the UK and East Midlands.
Renowned for their collaborative culture and delivery-focused approach, they partner with clients to bring complex industrial developments from concept through to completion - combining strong commercial governance with modern delivery frameworks.
Due to continued growth across Leicester and the wider Midlands, they are seeking an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to take ownership of multiple industrial and logistics projects, ensuring robust cost control, risk management and commercial performance throughout the project lifecycle.
ROLE
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Leicester, you will provide commercial leadership on large-scale design and build construction projects within the industrial, logistics, manufacturing and data centre sectors.
You will typically manage 2-3 major projects concurrently, each valued at around £50 million, delivering full commercial services from feasibility through to final account under JCT Design & Build contracts.
This role is ideally suited to a Senior Quantity Surveyor or Quantity Surveyor from a consultancy background who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is motivated by delivering commercial excellence on complex, high-value construction projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor in Leicester, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing full commercial management on major industrial and logistics construction projects across Leicester and the East Midlands
- Managing projects under JCT Design & Build contracts, ensuring strong contractual compliance and commercial governance
- Preparing, monitoring and reporting cost plans, budgets and cash flows throughout the project lifecycle
- Leading procurement strategies, tender processes and contractor appointments
- Managing valuations, variations, change control and final accounts
- Identifying, managing and mitigating commercial and contractual risks
- Working closely with project managers, design teams, contractors and client stakeholders
- Providing clear and accurate commercial reporting to clients and senior stakeholders
- Supporting dispute avoidance and commercial negotiations where required
- Ensuring compliance with company procedures, client requirements and industry best practice
- Attending site meetings and progress reviews to maintain strong commercial oversight
PERSON
To succeed in this Senior Quantity Surveyor role in Leicester, you will bring strong consultancy experience delivering major industrial and logistics construction projects.
The ideal candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor on large construction projects
- Experience within industrial, logistics, manufacturing, data centre or distribution sectors (preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of JCT contracts, particularly JCT Design & Build
- Consultancy background delivering complex, high-value projects (essential)
- Experience managing multiple projects with values of £50m+
- Degree-qualified in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline
- RICS membership or working towards chartership
- Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Full UK driving licence for site visits across the East Midlands
- A proactive, commercially driven and team-oriented approach
