Atkins Search are currently recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join an award winning, multi-disciplinary Construction Consultancy based in Manchester with hybrid working available.

Please note – if you are a Quantity Surveyor or Fund Monitoring Surveyor seeking the next stage of their career will also be considered for the role of Senior Quantity Surveyor.

You will also be considered if you have several years of Quantity Surveying, Cost Management, Commercial Management or Employers Agent experience.

My client, a leading Construction Consultancy with a highly reputable Monitoring team, provides a variety of services to national and international clients across a multitude of property sectors.

My client can offer a Senior Quantity Surveyor a diverse workload across a range of sectors with a main focus on fund monitoring and the opportunity to become a truly integral part of their growing business.

Role

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, your role will include:

  • Responsible for monitoring funds, commercial and financial aspects of construction schemes, for prestigious developments and clients across the Northwest region.
  • Preparing comprehensive initial assessments on the viability and deliverability of development schemes.
  • Monitor project expenditure, quality standards, progress against programme, insurance cover, contractual compliance, and statutory obligations through interim reporting.
  • Provide expert technical guidance and oversee project delivery.
  • Produce detailed construction monitoring reports, development appraisals, and carry out certification duties.
  • Lead the coordination of inputs from internal teams and integrate their contributions into consolidated reports.
  • Draft and finalise high-quality technical reports, ensuring accuracy and clarity.
  • Attend site meetings to review progress, undertake valuations, and highlight any programme delays.
  • Support business development by identifying new opportunities and strengthening client relationships throughout project delivery.

Person

To be successful in this Senior Quantity Surveyor role in Manchester, you should have:

  • Construction related, Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management degree (or equivalent)
  • RICS or MRICS Chartered or working towards
  • Proven track record in a quantity surveying role, within a Consultancy
  • Sound practical knowledge of construction processes and a good working understanding of JCT Building Contracts
  • Report writing skills
  • Full UK driving license
  • Highly organised, able to manage multiple priorities and meet demanding deadlines.
  • Strong written and verbal communication and rapport building skills
  • Strong IT skills
  • Positive attitude and outlook to work
