As a Construction Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be involved in working across a wide variety of large, exciting construction projects across both public and private sectors. Due to continued growth and business development, our client is actively recruiting for a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in their Leeds office.

This Senior Quantity Surveyor position offers exposure to all aspects of quantity surveying and commercial management within a supportive construction consultancy environment, with opportunities to work on prestigious construction projects throughout the UK and overseas.

As a Construction Senior Quantity Surveyor with a Leeds-based Construction Consultancy, you will be required to deliver and demonstrate a variety of quantity surveying responsibilities across an array of Construction Projects. As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Cost planning and cost estimation for construction projects on a national basis
• Cost management and budget management throughout project lifecycles
• Tender management and tender evaluation for construction contracts
• Financial reporting and cost reporting for clients and stakeholders
• Budget management and cost control on active construction projects
• Employers’ agent duties and contract administration
• Bills of Quantity
• Valuations and interim valuations for construction work
• Commercial management of construction contracts and procurement processes
• Risk management and cost risk assessments for construction projects
• Claims, adjudications and risk management
• Expert witness
• Supporting junior members of staff
• Direct client liaison

Employed by a people focused, nationally leading specialist Construction Consultancy based in Leeds, the ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor must be able to portray the following:

• Be able to demonstrate a proven track record of quantity surveying experience
• Tier 1 main contractor experience or experience in claims/disputes
• MRICS chartered or working towards RICS chartership
• Strong commercial awareness and understanding of construction contracts
• Experience with cost planning, tender management and value engineering
• Have the ability to communicate effectively with clients and construction teams
• Knowledge of construction industry standards and procurement processes
• Desire and motivation to succeed in a quantity surveying career in Leeds
• Understanding of commercial management and contract administration
