Role

As a Senior Quantity Surveyor working in Stockport, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Taking the lead on construction projects while mentoring junior Quantity Surveyors and apprentices
  • Serving as the primary liaison for clients and design teams throughout both pre- and post-contract stages
  • Overseeing key client accounts and cultivating lasting professional relationships

Responsibilities

The Senior Quantity Surveyor position in Stockport requires you to:

  • Deliver comprehensive cost management services across various construction projects in Greater Manchester
  • Provide expert cost advice and strategic input throughout project lifecycles
  • Prepare detailed cost plans, Bills of Quantities and tender documentation
  • Manage procurement processes and contract administration for major construction projects
  • Conduct valuations, prepare payment certificates and manage final accounts
  • Monitor and report on project financial performance and risk management
  • Lead negotiations with contractors and suppliers to ensure best value
  • Support business development activities and contribute to company growth in the Northwest construction sector

Person

The ideal candidate for this Senior Quantity Surveyor role in Stockport will have:

  • Degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management, or a related field
  • Chartered status (MRICS) or commitment to achieving it within two years
  • Experience working for a Private Practice, Construction Consultancy, or similar organisation
  • Strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to project sites across the UK
