Role
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor
employed by a Manchester based Construction Consultancy, you will have the option to work across a variety of sectors, including residential, retail, education, leisure, commercial, healthcare, etc.
This role will offer you the opportunity to become an integral part of a highly reputable construction consultancy, creating positive impacts whilst operating across a wide variety of exciting projects.
Responsibilities
As a Senior Quantity
Surveyor
job based in Manchester, you will be required to carry out a variety of general day-to-day
responsibilities with the expectation to broaden out your skill set and knowledge as you grow with the construction consultancy.
Your duties will include (but not limited to):
- Managing a multi-disciplined team consisting of Cost and Project Managers
- Providing advice on procurement strategy, risk management, value engineering and the overall tendering process
- Provide advice on contract arrangements
- Prepare tender documents
- Advising clients on tenders when received, including undertaking a full tender evaluation
- Prepare contract documentation
- Completing valuations
- Change monitoring
- Variations
- Budget management
- Negotiating final accounts
- Working closely with the Team and mentoring / working with graduates
- Developing existing Client contacts and relationships
- Developing new Client contacts and relationships
- Assisting with business development where necessary
Person
The ideal Senior Quantity Surveyor
based in Manchester must be able to portray the following:
- Construction related degree (or equivalent)
- Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor in a Consultancy setting
- Chartered status (or working towards)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop, build and maintain strong relationships
