OVERVIEW

Are you a Senior Project Manager with experience delivering complex electrical and infrastructure projects in regulated sectors?

We’re hiring a Senior Project Manager to deliver major electrical based projects within the energy sector, supporting large-scale, high-value programmes across the South West.

Please note: The client's offices are based in Birmingham; however, you’ll be required to be on-site in the Southwest two to three times per week.

Our client is a well-established UK consultancy providing project management, cost management, and technical advisory services across the energy, utilities, and infrastructure sectors.

Known for their professionalism, technical capability, and collaborative working culture, they deliver complex, regulated projects that shape the UK’s future energy landscape.

As part of their continued expansion, they are now seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead electrical infrastructure projects from inception to completion within a highly regulated environment.

ROLE

As a Senior Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering electrical engineering projects from initial planning through to completion, ensuring quality, compliance, and client satisfaction at every stage.

You will coordinate with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to drive project success, manage budgets, mitigate risks, and maintain alignment with technical and commercial objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a Senior Project Manager, your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading the planning and delivery of electrical-based projects within the energy and infrastructure sectors
  • Adjusting project plans and priorities to respond to changing site or client conditions
  • Defining scope, goals, deliverables, and timelines to meet project objectives
  • Collaborating with engineers, contractors, and client representatives to ensure smooth project coordination
  • Managing budgets, procurement, and resource planning to maintain financial control
  • Monitoring progress against schedule and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards
  • Implementing effective risk management and mitigation strategies
  • Ensuring project compliance under NEC3 contract frameworks and consultancy governance procedures

PERSON

To be successful in this Senior Project Manager role, you will bring:

  • Proven experience in project management on large-scale, complex projects - ideally within regulated sectors such as energy, utilities, or infrastructure
  • Strong electrical engineering background (essential)
  • Previous experience gained within a consultancy or contractor-side environment
  • Familiarity with NEC3 contracts (desired)
  • Educated to degree level (or equivalent) in engineering, construction, or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 8 years’ industry experience
  • Professional qualification such as APM PMQ (desired) or working towards it
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, regulated environment
