As a Preconstruction Manager, you'll join the Senior Leadership Team to shape business direction and lead the work-winning strategy for the region. You'll oversee the complete bid lifecycle from PQQ, EOI submission, through to successful handover to site teams.

You'll lead a multidisciplinary preconstruction team including Bid Writers, Bid Managers, Marketing, Business Development and Estimators, ensuring best-in-class bid delivery and proposal management to deliver for the wider business. This senior preconstruction role is about strategy, leadership and stakeholder management to coordinate complex tender responses.

As a Preconstruction Manager in Birmingham, your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborate with the Senior Leadership Team to determine the work-winning strategy across the West Midlands region
• Manage the preconstruction team to deliver the strategy and work winning bids
• Oversee bid management processes from pre-qualification questionnaires through to contract award and handover
• Network with current and prospective clients to identify and develop opportunities
• Coordinate with estimators, bid writers and business development teams to create compelling tender submissions
• Work with internal stakeholders to deliver against business objectives
• Champion best practice in bid strategy, proposal writing and client engagement
• Manage resource allocation and team performance to ensure successful bid outcomes

To be successful in this preconstruction manager job, you will bring significant experience leading bid teams and work-winning strategy within a tier one or tier two construction main contractor environment.

• Proven track record operating as a Preconstruction Manager, Head of Preconstruction or similar construction senior leadership role for a tier one or tier 2 construction main contractor
• A great communicator with the ability to coordinate multiple internal and external stakeholders throughout the tender process
• Senior Bid Manager experience will also be considered if you're looking to take the next step into strategic leadership
• Strong understanding of construction contracts, procurement routes and framework agreements
• Demonstrated success in winning major construction projects and managing bid pipelines
• Career-minded construction professional who leads by example

Experience with NEC and JCT contracts, RIBA stages and value engineering is highly desirable.
