ROLE
As a Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor, you’ll lead a range of exciting construction projects and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors, Assistants, and Apprentices. You’ll serve as the key contact for clients, overseeing both the commercial and delivery aspects of your projects, and play a vital role in maintaining and growing key client accounts.
You will also contribute to the development of your team through mentoring and training, while actively seeking new business opportunities and promoting the company at networking events and industry functions.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Your key responsibilities as a Senior Chartered Quantity Surveyor will include:
Leading and delivering multiple construction projects simultaneously
Managing and mentoring junior staff, supporting their development and progression
Acting as the principal point of contact for clients and design teams
Managing key client accounts, nurturing relationships, and identifying new work opportunities
Delivering cost consultancy and project management services from feasibility to final account
Conducting Employer’s Agent duties on design and build projects
Contributing to in-house CPD programmes and technical development
Promoting the consultancy at networking events and maintaining a presence within the local and national market
Ensuring all services are delivered in line with the company’s Quality Management System
Providing an exceptional level of client service across all projects
PERSON
To be successful in this role, you should demonstrate:
A degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Cost Management or a related subject
Chartered status with MRICS (or a strong commitment to achieving it within three years)
Minimum of 3 years’ experience running your own projects in a consultancy environment
Proficiency in measurement techniques – ideally using CostX software
Excellent communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal
Strong commercial awareness and client-facing experience
Analytical thinking and confident decision-making abilities
Meticulous attention to detail and a dedication to quality
Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, with a willingness to travel across the UK as required
